Meet Lucy!

Lucy speaks and trains with large and small groups.  Her experience includes corporate sales and advertising training in book publishing, vocal coaching for speakers, and teaching of photography.  She has also taught yoga and has coached inmates in the prison program "Decisions."  Lucy  started young as a trainer:  from age 14 through college she taught swimming, life saving, and small craft skills to children and adults in summer camp and community programs.

Newspaper columnist, advertising and public relations writer, staff writer-photographer at a world-class museum. 

Coach
As mentioned above, Lucy has years of experience in coaching and training and currently coaches individuals and groups in public speaking and presentation skills. 

Editor
Developmental Editor for a major publisher where developed college texts and media supplements in engineering, mathematics, computer science, and the natural sciences;  technical editor;  writing supervisor in other staff positions.

Speaker/Entertainer
Storyteller, humor presenter, magician.

Photographer
Published and exhibiting photographer; studied with Minor White and others.

Manager
Middle manager in the publishing industry.

Awards
Recipient of advertising awards and of several Toastmasters International speaking-contest prizes; designated the Exeter, NH, 1999 Toastmaster of the Year.

Education
B.A., Middlebury College, major, American Literature; minor, French and German; postgraduate education in Harvard University publishing and computer-publishing programs and at the Andover Newton Theological School.  Lucy's continuing education is ongoing  in connection with, for example, the National Speakers Association and the American Society for Training and Development.

Personal
Lucy and her husband live in southern New Hampshire, outside Boston.
They have two adult sons, one a plastics-and-manufacturing engineer and the other a welding engineer. Lucy, who sings in a chorale and in a choir and plays violin and viola, is an active in her community.  She enjoys outdoor activities including downhill skiing.

Lucy is an active community volunteer. For example, she and her husband are University of New Hampshire Marine Docents.
